Arts and Social Sciences Postgraduate Welcome Program: Postgraduate Welcome Reception

Where: The Great Hall, The Quadrangle

MAP / DIRECTIONS

Meet staff and students over food, refreshments and live music

Your Orientation continues with the Postgraduate Welcome Reception, a formal social occasion held in our historic Great Hall in the Quadrangle.

The Postgraduate Welcome Reception is your opportunity to meet other new students in your course, your Postgraduate Coursework Coordinator and other academic and professional staff from across the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

There’ll be food and refreshments, an official welcome from the Dean, Professor Annamarie Jagose, an awards ceremony and a professional photographer to commemorate the start of your postgraduate studies.

You’ll be prepared for success by:

- Having the opportunity to speak to your Postgraduate Coursework Coordinator, an expert in your field, who can answer any questions you have about what classes will be like and how you can succeed as a postgraduate student.
- Meeting other new postgraduate students in your course, so you can start building a network of high achieving students in your area of study prior to the start of classes.
- Being introduced to other professional staff who can answer your questions about topics like internships, careers, academic support and more,
- Students should also attend the Postgraduate Information Session held from 3pm. See event for full details.

Registration is now closed, however, you are still welcome to attend on the day. Please visit the registration table outside the Great Hall upon arrival.

Please note, for students who are unable to attend Welcome Week, we also offer an intensive catch-up orientation program during Week 1 called Welcome at Dusk.
