Celebrate the start of your Postgraduate studies!

Congratulations on accepting your offer to complete postgraduate studies in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney.

We would like to invite you to celebrate the start of your studies with us at your Postgraduate Coursework Welcome Program on Thursday 1 August 2019 during Welcome Week. The Faculty Postgraduate Welcome is a reception held in the Great Hall that helps introduce commencing students to key members of the Faculty including: the Associate Deans; Student Affairs, Student Life, Postgraduate Coursework Programs, and Research; Postgraduate Coursework Coordinators, School staff and Student Affairs and Engagement staff. It is also an opportunity for students to meet fellow postgraduate students before lectures and seminars commence, establish peer-to-peer contacts and networks to help settle into postgraduate study.

  • The program begins in Wallace Lecture Theatre 200 at 3pm with an Essential Information Seminar where you'll receive expert advice about succeeding at a postgraduate level of study.
  • You'll then be taken on a guided tour by our student mentors of Camperdown campus, the exclusive postgraduate community space, The Quarter, and Fisher Library.
  • And finally, at 5pm you will join your fellow new postgraduate students and key academic and professional staff in our historic Great Hall in the Quadrangle for light refreshments and live jazz.
